With overall wellbeing taking center stage, strengthening your immune system has become more essential than ever. While nourishing foods, daily vitamins, and healthy habits play a big role, integrating simple movement into your routine can also make a meaningful difference.
To help elevate your wellness practice, here are three yoga moves you can weave into your morning or evening ritual. Each one is designed to gently awaken, balance, and support key areas of the body linked to immunity. Follow the step-by-step guidance from our wellness expert below.
Move One: Kapalabhati with Heart Tap
Sit comfortably. Place one hand on your heart and extend the other as if you’re waltzing. Begin kapalabhati breathing—quick, sharp exhales through the nose. The inhales will happen naturally.
While maintaining the breath pattern, switch hands and gently tap your chest, activating the thymus gland to help stimulate immune response. Continue for 1–2 minutes.
Move Two: Eagle Arm Wrap for Thyroid Support
Extend your left arm over and around your right, wrapping as many times as you comfortably can into eagle arms. Turn your chin over your left shoulder and lift your elbows high.
Take slow, deep breaths and swallow a few times to gently flush and stimulate the thyroid gland. Repeat with the right arm on top and your head turning to the right.
Move Three: Restorative Child’s Pose with Elbow Hold
Hold your opposite elbow, cupping the tip of one elbow in the center of your opposite palm. Bring your forearms to your lower belly and fold into child’s pose.
Let your breath expand across your back body, inhaling deeply for 1–2 minutes to release tension and support relaxation.
